We have more than a decade's experience delivering fully-featured, custom designed, embedded control and management sub-systems for evaporative and reverse cycle airconditioning systems. From the embedded control boards for standard or digital scroll type compressors, to wall-mounted and wireless handheld remote controls, we've created devices used by hundreds of thousands of Australians for a range of brand name cooling systems. We can even claim to have introduced innovative features that have become industry standards. This extensive experience also extends to precision computer room and large building HVAC embedded control and management systems. But not only do we design the electronics, we also engage with customer-appointed or contracted industrial designers to create the housings so that we can deliver a truly turnkey solution. We even write the user manuals and make the packaging if required!

CASE STUDY #1 - Precision HVAC Control and Data Logging Solution When a world leader in building and computer room environmental control systems wanted to launch a new product and realised neitehr they nor any other vendor had a control solution that delivered teh features they required, they contracted us to bring our expertise in cooling systems to bear to deliver a world class solution the equal of their precision, high air volume refrigeration systems. The brief was that the unit, to be supplied as an embeddable control board with a fully featured GUI for mounting on site in their main compressor control unit, had to accurately measure and control temperature and humidity, had to provide sophisticated on-board management and data logging, had to be very durable, and had to be easy to use by semi-skilled installation staff. For this project, we selected a large monochrome LCD display that had an impressive track record of reliability in industrial applications, then customised it to provide the on screen information and navigation required, as well as the mandatory data-logging required by state and federal health authorities. Today, the product is recognised as amongst the most fully featured and reliable of its type, and since being launched several years ago, has been delivered to thousands of customers in Australia and Asia, where it's dominated the market.

CASE STUDY #2 - Programmable, Zoned, Ducted Reverse Cycle AC Controller When an Australian supplier of ducted reverse cycle systems wanted to differentiate themselves in the market, they realised that the market was flooded with older analogue type control panels, or feature-poor digital ones, and that nothing delviered what they considered to be the innovations required to make them stand out. Very simply, they wanted a top-end featured controller that was compact, easy to use and inexpensive.... and that had a touch screen interface and multi-zone control capability, with a seven day programmer, and that fitted in the space of a light switch. We developed a brief regarding the complex control functions that had to be delivered to make this a truly world-class product, then settled on a highly reliable touch screen interface, before setting about creating the simple, intuitive, icon-based navigation interface that our customer demanded. The resulting product, in an housing we designed and manufactured, is now in production after having been reviewed for approval by the world's leading manufacturer of digital scroll compressors, who has acknowledged it as the most feature-rich controller of its type, and fully compliant with their requirements. It's now helping set one Aussie air conditioning company apart from the crowd, by delivering an innovative and stylish user control interface they wanted; while providing all the back-end control and management features needed to make it a reliable, hassle-free performer. |
